CHIP : Inter Police historical centre
Description
To mark the bicentenary of the creation of the gendarmerie in 1996, a museum was established in the old Floreffe police station opposite the railway station. The building still has barracks and cells for solitary confinement of the time.
The museum presents various themes covering the history of the Belgian monarchy and the police force, the functioning of the institutions and rights and duties of citizens in society. An interactive terminal also makes young children aware of road safety.
