The Man of Spy Centre houses the Jemeppe-sur-Sambre Tourist Office and an interpretation centre. This was once an old water collection station built in 1906 and listed for its architectural value.
Its interpretation centre covers two themes: the importance of the prehistoric site of Spy cave and Neanderthal Man (his morphology, his place in human evolution, his way of life, the mystery of his disappearance, etc.).
An attractive scenography explains the most recent scientific knowledge in layman’s terms. The buildings also house the Jemeppe Tourist Office and function rooms designed for groups.
